About me

This blog is written and maintained by Thomas Vigh Sørensen.

I’m a full time software developer by day and a homelabber and tinkerer by night.

I consider myself a FOSS enthusiast and take pride in selfhosting a lot of services, in an attempt to keep my private data away from the hands of big-tech companies.

I’ve been fascinated by computers for most of my life, and I began tinkering at a very young age. As soon as I learned to read, I delved into the endless world of computing, that wasn’t just related to playing video games. I started teaching myself web technologies in my early teenage years and later progressed to the Java programming language. In 2013, I embarked on studying computer science and secured my first full-time job three years later.

In my current role, I devote the majority of my time to developing administrative applications for internal use at the company I work for. These applications are predominantly developed using the Kotlin programming language.

During my spare time, I prefer to explore topics that differ from my work responsibilities. Consequently, my spare time projects often involve a completely different tech stack.

The posts published on this blog will mainly consist of topics on which I’ve invested a significant amount of time, possibly addressing situations where I felt the need for a how-to guide to solve a specific problem. Consequently, I hope that the knowledge I’ve acquired during the process of addressing that particular issue may be beneficial to others.
